High Altitude Training of Arizona Board of Directors includes the founders and visionaries behind the organization programs. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization, overseeing partnerships, outreach, and activities to promote the mission.
Nathaniel Thise is a certified MAT Master RX Specialist, biomechanics expert, strength training coach, and founder of MAT of Arizona. Nathaniel is dedicated to keeping athletes injury free and to the rehabilitation of chronic and acute problems that arise from training and everyday life.
We’re grateful for his insights as a small business owner. MAT of Arizona was established over 8 years ago, where Nathaniel continues to help clients regain there health and guides them on clean living practices.
Najim Mahmoud is a USATF certified coach. He is also a MAT Specialist (muscle activation techniques)
and the founder of MAT of Flagstaff.
As a coach, Najim helped to lead Desert Vista High School Cross Country Team to 3 state championships titles and an 8th place finish at the Nike Cross Nationals. He is currently training with the the Elite Team and volunteers much of his time to serving the team through injury prevention and rehabilitation with MAT.
Julie Mahmoud Udchachon
Coach Julie Mahmoud Udchachon is a USATF certified coach, a life long athlete and an IAAF (WA) Authorized Athlete Representative for USA, Uganda, Tanzania. She has extensive experience as a runner and coach for track, road, cross country, mountain, trail, and ultra running.
Julie’s competitive accomplishments, as an athlete include two USATF National Championship titles at 100k road and 50k trail. She is a three-time USATF 100k team member for the IAAF 100k World Championships.
Julie started her nonprofit career as the Snowshoeing Director for Special Olympics Alaska (SOAK), and as an organizer, founded the Alaska Snowshoe Club. Today she is dedicated to bringing clean athletcs and sustainable living practices as the Executive Director of High Altitude Training of Arizona.
